In these notes a very short introduction to aircraft propulsion is given, followed by a more comprehensive discussion of installation and issues affecting aircraft conceptual design.
This chapter includes the following topics:
- Basic Concepts, including engine types, considerations on choosing number of engines, and some basic sizing rules.
- Installation, describing some of the considerations in nacelle design and placement as well as some specific geometry data
- Performance, including some typical engine data.
